An In-Depth Beginners Guide To Affiliate Marketing

An In-Depth Beginners Guide to Affiliate Marketing that will show you how to get started with your online business today

This beginners guide to affiliate marketing will cover the basics and explain thoroughly how you can get started making money online with your very own online business through affiliate marketing. Most bloggers just talk the talk but today you will get to see me give you a walk through as well.

Before I continue you must know that you need to create a website. Anyone that has an online business without a website is probably lying.

You may ask, who’s this guy talking to me ? I recommend you get to know who I am.

What Is Affiliate Marketing ?

If you remember the 90’s then you might think of it as the pop and rap era, but this was also the era where the internet or this big ocean of web, came into existence. This brought a brand new opportunity that previously hadn’t been seen. It gave the opportunity for companies all around the world to promote their products to the millions of visitors that we all know today as traffic.

In the late 1990’s the internet exploded as there were so many websites being created that were starting to publish a substantial amount of content that their visitors found valuable. This was great and all but for the information being written these website owners wanted to be properly compensated.

The earliest forms of online advertisement came from CPM, the cost per thousandth’s (the m in the acronym CPM stands for roman numberal “1000”). Basically website owners were getting paid $2 for every 1000 impressions their website would receive.

This was a good start to the whole internet world but there was so much more potential out there. This is where affiliate marketing later on came into play.

Affiliate Marketing on a technicality basis is the relationship between the advertiser , the publisher , and most importantly the consumer. But let’s look at it from a website stand point ; You as the website owner are going to publish content on a specific type of topic that will link to your advertiser (affiliate programs ). The cycle is pretty simple, visitors come to your website, they read your content and are redirected to a landing page where the advertiser is promoting a product or service.

Sometimes the publisher is the advertiser but this is only tends to happen when the publisher owns the products as well, whether physical or digital products. Now that i’ve given you some general information on what is affiliate marketing  I’m diving straight into the steps required to creating an online business that makes it’s money from affiliate marketing.

Choose your interest -> Build a website -> Get rankings and visitors -> Make Beginners Guide To Affiliate Marketingmoney $

It’s as simple as those 4 steps in hindsight but there’s obviously more to it than just that. You have to know if your interest is profitable or even competitive. You will need to make the decision if you should own a domain name or build a free sub domain name instead or how to even get traffic.

There is the free traffic or the paid alternative, one is not better than the other. Are you looking for one time visitors or recurring one’s that you want for them to read all of your content ? As you can see there is a lot that goes into affiliate marketing. By now is where people make or break on the idea of affiliate marketing, Here’s my question to you ; Is affiliate marketing for you ? First, let me tell you who affiliate marketing is for before you make any decision.

Who Is Affiliate Marketing For ?

One thing I absolutely love about affiliate marketing is the fact that anyone can try it and succeed. Yes, anyone can do it from teens to adults to even elders. What usually tells me if someone will succeed with affiliate marketing is how much action they are willing to take.

It’s vital to have a good solid ground foundation on the basics of affiliate marketing at the very least. There is a lot of misguided information out on the web which is why I decided to make this the first article I compose for this website. I want beginners to be able to come to this guide whenever they are stuck or have any doubt’s.

Even if you already have an affiliate website set up that you have content on this is a guide that you will see as helpful. At the end of the day, affiliate marketing is for anyone as long as you are willing to put in your effort then you will get compensated for your time.

What This Guide Will Cover About Affiliate Marketing?

  • Find an Interest
  • Find a Keyword
  • Find a Affiliate Program
  • Buy a Domain or Use A Free Sub Domain
  • Set up Hosting
  • Install WordPress
  • Set up Your Website
  • Write Some Content
  • Monetize Your Content
  • Share Your Content

Those are basically the 10 steps to making money with affiliate marketing but each step requires all your undivided attention as it will take some time to master some of these steps. Let’s get right to the meat of this guide as that’s what all of you want.

Find An Interest Or A Niche

We all have some sort of passion or interest that has be building since we were a little kid. Personally I have always loved working out but with my schedule has always been very hard from going to a gym 3 to 5 times a week. I bought my first home gym but wasn’t completely satisfied with it even though I was told that it was the best in the market hands down.

This inspired me to create a website around this certain passion of mine. What did I create ? A website that revolved around reviewing all type of home gyms. Be aware that this website is still a work in progress but go ahead and take a look if you wish, http://besthomegymequipmentguide.com .

There are many niches out in the online world so many are very competitive but others haven’t even been discovered yet. It’s very easy to fall in the loophole of what everyone is doing and dive head first into the popular niches such as weight loss or even make money online but this isn’t something I would recommend on your first niche website.

It takes a longer time and a lot more content to be successful with this type of niche. The people that succeed in this type of niche are people that have a lot of experience and already have a good amount of followers that they can benefit from but other than that it will take time.

Anything could be a niche in reality but one place I found very useful to discover niche is amazon. Have you seen their e-commerce store ? They have so many products and a huge variety of departments that ideas just start popping every where. Let me show you what I mean.

Products = Endless Niches

First, just go to amazon and go into their best sellers menu option.

How To Find A Niche On Amazon

Now that we are on the best sellers category we can see what are the hot items on amazon. My advice is to only look at items that have over 10 reviews and have good reviews. You look into where your passion or interest takes you.

When I first created my website on home gyms, this is actually how I did it so let me repeat those steps but let’s look at some different products.

Take a look at this tuned speaker I found on amazon. As you can see it has over 35,ooo reviews with a rating of 4.5 stars out of 5 at the moment. This seems like a product that would have some worthwhile opportunities. Your niche wouldn’t be amazon echo in this case, it would be all these different types of speakers.

How To Find A Niche With Amazon

In theory you could review all these different type of speakers and at the end of your articles tell your visitors if you recommend it or you don’t with an affiliate link to amazon.

Find A Keyword

Research keyword can be fun or frustrating, we are trying to discover keywords that have low competition. Keywords with low competitions are going to be much easier to rank for than competitive terms such as, fat loss or make money online. Simple right ?Find A Keyword

I for one don’t like wasting unnecessary money on tools that cost money. For my keyword research I use the one at Wealthy Affiliate ( you will need to create a free account ) there’s a free option and a members one. Just choose the free starter member.

I entered the term “outdoor speakers” and look at all the other keywords that it brought up. There are some good ones here for sure but let’s look at the first one.

As you can see the keyword ” outdoor speakers” get’s about 9744 searches a month which is a really good amount for a main keyword to have your website about.

If you were to land on the first page for this specific keyword than you would receive an estimate of about 1657 monthly visits just for this keyword.

We haven’t even started talking about product speakers review yet. This simply means that this keyword has huge potential as long as the competition isn’t too crazy.

We just find out the competition by just clicking on the view results link under the competition. There is a total of 283 websites competing for this specific keyword term which is actually pretty good. I say anything less than 300 competing website is really good for a main keyword.

Find A Keyword

This would be a niche that I would definitely go after. Most speakers you see in the market are of decent prices usually around $100 , meaning there is commission to be made within this market.

Try the free tool below by just clicking on the link.
Use%20This%20Free%20Keyword%20Research%20Tool
To make Commission we need to join an affiliate program but which one ?

Find An Affiliate Program

There are so many affiliate programs out there in the internet, but so many options can be very overwhelming at times. There are individual advertisers like the actual companies such as, sports authority or walmart. You can be an affiliate for nike or adidas and so on. The hard part is actually managing all these different type of affiliate programs.

I personally just like having all my affiliate links and products from the same advertiser, which is why I always recommend the amazon affiliate program. As you previously saw there is a huge amount of  a product database for every different kind of niche so don’t worry you will never run out of things to talk about.

Amazon Affiliate Program

Amazon has a pretty cool affiliate program but you wouldn’t think that at first. You begin only making about 4% of shipments your customers purchase. The hidden gem is the fact that they use a 24 hour cookie which will credit you on all purchases made by your customers within a 24 hour window.

This simply means that let’s say one of your visitors clicks on your affiliate link right ? They go to amazon and purchase the product you were promoting, you would get credit for this purchase but let’s say that same customers comes back to amazon and purchases something else completely different you will gain commission from that purchase.

This is pretty cool and substantially beneficial specially during holiday seasons ! 😉 Now that you see how you can reap the benefits of the amazon affiliate program let’s keep moving forward.

Buy a Domain or Use A Free Sub Domain

You are in the stage right now that you might need to make decision on whether you would want to purchase a domain name or not. Ultimately you will want to purchase a domain under your name because this will be your property but for the start up of your affiliate marketing niche website I would recommend you getting your two free website with siterubix  .

What I really like about siterubix websites is that they are really easy to set up , they don’t cost a penny, and just helps you get the ball rolling pretty quickly. You will get access to all the same wordpress themes as everyone else. In fact, if you have a website name already in mind for your keyword just plug it in below and see how easy making websites with siterubix actually is.

It really took me like 30 seconds when I did it which was crazy fast versus the old days when you had to know coding to be able to create websites. The evolvement of technology is pretty insane if you ask me.

There are some pro’s and con’s for free website which is to be expected but to get started I feel this is your best bet, plus you shouldn’t want to invest money into something you don’t even know if it works, right ?

Set Up Hosting

First off, what is hosting ? Hosting is basically the housing, serving , and maintenance of files for one or many websites. Think of it as what makes your website accessible to the search engines. Without a hosting then we wouldn’t have a functional website.

Now to set up our hosting, this can really be done in multiple ways. Usually you can just pay a monthly fee to have your website hosted somewhere like hostgator. I personally pay a membership at Wealthy Affiliate where I receive training on everything that is affiliate training and my hosting is included as well, find out more.

For your domain name to point to your web space then you need to point to your hosting name server that will look something like this in my case.

How To Set Up Your Hosting

You would just need to go to your DNS setting and edit your information in my case I would just plug in these 2 name servers; ns1.mywahosting.com & ns2.mywahosting.com . Now my website would be hosted properly.

If you would like to get your domain and hosting with Godaddy which is also a very good choice, I would recommend you view the video below.

Installing WordPress

Actually if you created your free siterubix sub domain website then wordpress got installed automatically. This is very beneficial as you don’t have to worry about manually doing it because this will require you to be a little more technical. Trust me, I’ve never had to do anything technical on my website so far .

Installing WordPressThe benefits of creating websites in 2016 is special as you don’t have to deal with all the coding aspect side of things. When you get inside your website’s wordpress admin area you will actually see some pages created already. The framework is already there which is nice, all we have to do is delete these pages.

Set Up Your Website

As we reach this stage on this guide you should have your website created already. Congrats on taking action! The steps that we’ve taken since the early 2000’s is pretty surreal as we use to be required to set up websites manually as there was no such tools that made wordpress automatic as there are today. In fact, content was created through coding which made it so much more challenging.

Let’s keep it moving and set up your website.

Step 1 Log Into Your Admin Area

To do this, you need to log into your website which Is shown below.

Set Up Your Website

Step 2 Activate and Update Your Plugins

Once you are inside your websites admin area then you will go to your plugins setting.

Activate and Update Your Plugins

Now once you click on the plugins option you will be redirected to all your plugins. Now, you will activate the  All in One SEO & the Exclude Pages from Navigation, and Askimet.

How To Activate Your Plugins

Step 3 Delete Your Default Post , Pages, And Comments

For the sake of wordpress not giving you a blank website, they will provide you with some default content. This goes for all new wordpress websites. Let’s delete this content and get ready to start writing relevant content to our niche. Before we do this, deleting these contents is quite simple.

First, we are going to delete our post.

Delete default Posts, Pages and Comments

Once you click on posts, you will be taken to a page where all your post are stored which you should only have one if it’s a new website. Now we are going to delete it like i’ve done below.

Delete default Posts, Pages and Comments

The same steps that we followed for deleting default post, we would also do the same thing for the default pages and comments. Instead of clicking on post , we are going to click on pages and comments. We are doing this to get our website SEO ready to maximise it’s potential.

Writing Quality Content

Usually content makes or stalls a website. Quality is content is the meat of your website and rightfully so. Visitors will be coming to your website to consume information on a certain topic but it’s your job to provide them with all the information they need. If you can accomplish this then you could have an authority website in no time.

There are 3 Search engines right now which make up about 98% of all visitors. Google , Yahoo , and Bing are the big three ! The one thing that they all have in common is the quality content that they absolutely love. Creating quality content is the key to succeeding. Whether you are posting once a week or three times, just make sure when you post that this is high quality content.

You have to write content with people on your mind and not a money sign. Write content as you were talking to a friend not a salesperson. This can push off your visitors as you are forcing the promotion too strong. Focus on writing the benefits , pro’s and con’s , what the product or program entails, and at the end give your opinion on the product.

This will help you make more sales and build a higher trust with your readers. I’d even go to the extent of saying, keep it it very black and white but do offer your advice at the end. Check out some tips on writing quality content for your website.

Create Your About Me Page:

This page has to have a level of connection to your audience but why ? There was a research done and convincingly, the second page people visited after reading an initial content on a website was the about me page. It’s simple, people want to know who they are receiving advice or content from. Making sure that they are dealing with a real person as this build trust even if they haven’t met the person.

1.Try to connect with your audience by writing a relevant story to your niche.

2. Add a personal image to tell your audience that you aren’t a robot.

3.Tell them why you created this website and why you want to help your audience.

4. Be willing to answer questions

This doesn’t have to be anything out of this world plus this is a page that you will come back to in the future to make it better. Try to make it quick and to the point, don’t make it a research paper.

Create Your Official Privacy Policy Page:

This is a must have but a very standard page in comparison to your other pages. This won’t be generating any type of revenue for you but it’s a good idea to have one.

In the words of Wikipedia, here’s what a privacy policy is.

“Privacy policy is a statement or a legal document (privacy law) that discloses some or all of the ways a party gathers, uses, discloses and manages a customer or client’s data.”

It’s basically just a way of telling your visitors what you plan to do with their data. People are never going to read this but it’s a requirement if you plan on having affiliate programs, many PPC networks, and advertising programs like Google Adsense.

You can use this privacy policy if you like.

Simple put your company or websites domain name in place of mines.

Now we’ve created 2 pages to our website that will be very beneficial.

You should have some idea of how to write high quality content right now but if you are think how am I going to do product reviews. I’m going to give you a product review template that was given to me.

PRODUCT_NAME
Overall Ranking: {rank goes here]
Price: {price of product(s) go here}
Owners: {owner names}
Website: {website URL}

INTRODUCTION

{Information about the product goes here}

PROS/CONS

{A list of the pros/cons of the product}

WHO IT IS FOR

{Who benefits from this product? Is it a good program for beginners/intermediate/advanced?}

TRAINING/TOOLS OVERVIEW

{what is included with the product in respect to training and tools}

SUPPORT

{does the product offer quality and timely support? Can you contact the owner directly?}

PRICE

{How much does the product costs? Are their several price points?}

FINAL OPINION/VERDICT

{A final synopsis along with your recommendation }

Just by filling each headline you could easily write up about 800 to 1000 words without much trouble. I would use this format or whichever one you choose consistently so your visitors now what to expect. It gives our website more of that authority and trust feel.

Share Your Content

You will need to create an account for Facebook , Twitter , Google plus , and Pinterest. These are the 4 that I usually use to share my content and they work quite well.

The idea is you write an article and share it within your social media. The goal would be to get your content in front of as many people as possible and for them to share your content as well.

This is accomplished in many different ways, here’s a few.

  • Get visual with your pictures ( I’d say 3 to 4 pictures per post)
  • Quality content can’t be stressed enough
  • Use sub headings to tell your readers what you will talk about next
  • At the end, ask if they can share your content ( this usually works )

Join as many communities related to your niche as possible and make sure you interact with them. This will help get your name out there and build your brand. Comment on other niche related websites as well and if you get a reply from the owner try to keep the conversation going as long as possible.

This will let the person know that you are aware of what you are talking about. This isn’t something that will happen overnight but in due time you will see the benefits.

Learning to share your content and promoting appropriately will be one of the hardest learning curves. It takes time to see what people like reading. That’s the basics on sharing your content though in the future I’ll write an in depth article on this topic, be on the look out for that.

Monetise Your Content

Now monetising your website and content is what people usually really enjoy. There are some different ways to do this some better than others but all of them work if accompanied by focusing on your content.

Here are some ways to monetise your content:

  • Affiliate programs
  • Adsense ads and other paid advertising programs
  • Building a list
  • Relevant advertisers (site sharing)
  • Create your own product

The most famous one is without a doubt affiliate programs as it’s very easy to do and can get you started right away. The downfall is that the money you make is smaller due to the fact that the product isn’t yours. Plus most affiliate programs are one time sales specially within amazon.

Adsense is one that would be beneficial if you have a website that just offers advice and tips. The only thing with Adsense is that for you to see any real amount of money you have to be dominating the search engines, in other words be getting a good amount of traffic but this can be done over time ( not my number one option)

Building a list is pretty popular within the internet marketers as there is nothing better than being able to promote to people already interested in what you talk about. Promote a service or product that meets their needs and they are most likely going to take action. I would go as far as saying that the real money is within a list as it’s a lot easier to leverage.

Relevant advertisers takes more work as you will need to contact companies and ask if they would like to advertise on your website but for this to work you would have to have some sort of authority in your niche. You would need to have some traffic or data to demonstrate how your website could be an asset to this advertiser.

Creating your own product is where everyone should want to reach as you will gain all profit. It can be any type of product too ! Even if it’s just you writing an E-book, this could be incredibly profitable specially if you have a list and traffic coming in on a daily basis.

My Conclusion on Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate Marketing As you can see, the potential within affiliate marketing is endless and for good reason. Affiliate marketing will be around as long as there are websites.

Many people make a full time income of this type of business and some are even rich off this. I’m not saying you will get rich but if you devote your time then looking back, there is no telling where you will be.

If you found this guide on affiliate marketing helpful then please share it as it help me a lot 🙂

Best wishes,

Yunier

I’m glad you enjoyed reading my guide ali. Let me be clear, making money online with affiliate programs takes some time but I made it after 3 months. It really depends though, things like your niche , your keyword research , how much content are your putting out , or even how quality your content is. I’d suggest to stick with it atlas 3 months and after that make your own decision if it’s for you or not.

This is a great explanation of affiliate marketing, I would recommend it to anyone who is interested but not to people that don’t even really know what it is, I myself had no clue what it was and found it very difficult at first, until I found wealthy affiliate. I fell into the mindset of making money overnight, which is almost impossible! But the main thing is to stay focused and work hard at it, and you can become very successful! Another thing I did stupidly was tried the making money online niche first, this was very hard because I did not know much, but later created another website on a different niche and it’s becoming pretty successful! Thank you for this explanation

Damn man, this is quite the guide you crated. Affiliate marketing is really stressful and so many people give out really bad advice. That def isn’t the case here.

You cover everything a person needs to know. From keyword research, writing quality content, picking affiliate programs, and even plugins you need to be successful. I wish I had something like this when I started out a few months ago. I feel like the most important part is keyword research and not trying to over sell. If you can get those two things down, you should be good.

Thanks for writing this. This is a rally great guide.

I have to agree that not over selling is the hardest part. We can’t look at our potential visitors as meal tickets. We follow this rule and concentrate on helpful content then the sales will come.

Very well put together. Serves as a great overview, step by step, for any beginner looking to make money online.
I can certainly appreciate the frustration with keywords, so I found your explantion put things in a better perspective for me!
So, if you where doing a review on outdoor speakers, would you be “drilling down” to find a keyword with less than 300 other sites and then create the review/content? Or creat the contact first and then insert the keywords?
    Thanks.

    Reply
    1. Yunier Post author

The frustration with keywords is for everyone ! The keywords are being so over populated lately with so many people entering the affiliate marketing field. As far as drilling down on keywords under 300 competing websites. I would make it an emphasis to target keywords under 300 for atleast the first 6 months. You will rank for these keywords much easier instead of targeting the keywords that the authority websites are going after.

In other words, it’s fine leaving the big fish for the big websites. Instead of going for sharks let’s get us some groupers 🙂

    HI there Yunier,

First class reminder on affiliate marketing and blogging (also known as content marketing) for me. Thanks for sharing it.

What is your thoughts on starting out with a subdomain (say your page.wordpress .com) to begin with then going for your own domain (Your page .com) or starting out right off the bat with your own domain name?

Also, how important do you consider it to be to include a contact Us page?

    Reply
    1. Yunier Post author

Hey Derek, I believe starting with a sub domain is ideal as it helps you get your foot in the door. It can be overwhelming setting up your own domain and all the extra stuff that it requires. I would even go as far as saying if you are a beginner start with a sub domain and publish from 10 to 20 articles and then buy a domain name.

Getting used to writing quality content will be the same on a sub domain vs your own domain. On your other question, I feel it is very important to have a contact us page as it shows that you are open to helping not just trying to profit off your visitors . A contact us page is more of formal way of allowing your audience to contact you.

This truly is an in-depth start to affiliate marketing.
Beginners can follow your guidelines to begin an online web business. Is it expensive to learn web marketing?
Most places want a lot of money to learn to build money making websites. How long does it take to start making money? I would like to learn but i can’t afford a big expense

Hey there Marty, learning web marketing isn’t expensive as there are many free places in the web that offer training on this type of topic. Making money online just doesnt happen overnight like so many people think. It took me about 3 months of consistently posting high quality content to make my first dollar online. Once you make your first dollar it’s just about scaling your business to make more money.

The number one place I would recommend on learning affiliate marketing with out a doubt is,wealthy affiliate.

Thank you for your helpful article. By reading your post, I am as a beginner in this area more motivated and encouraged to keep doing patiently the site that I have right now. There were times I felt discouraged because of a thought whether it would work or not.

Hi Erna, the thought of doubt if this works or not is hard to escape from. You don’t make money over night; A business strategy is done with a long term thought in mind. Just write quality content and just keep learning as much as possible.

Hello Yunier, Great overview of Affiliate Marketing and I liked your history lesson on how we got to here. You have covered the main points nicely and taken away a lot of the ‘mystery’ of getting started online and given your reader excellent advice in terms of your recommendations and resources such as Wealthy Affiliates etc.

In terms of writing quality content and building a readership, you said it best when you said; “Affiliate Marketing on a technicality basis is the relationship between the advertiser , the publisher , and most importantly the consumer.” Yes, I agree the consumer, the customer, the reader is the most important part of the equation when it comes to internet marketing because they are the only people that matter and it is ‘they’ who decide to read or not, come back or not, buy or not. So as long as we have them in mind and strive to GIVE them something of value then we will become successful online.

Great review, you have done a great service to your readers and I’m sure they will find this post very useful and helpful.

Hey Peter ! I tied laying out the steps to afffiliate marketing as easy and simple as possible. I would have to agree that their seems to be a mystery around making money online specially with all the scams out there. As long as you are willing to take action and follow some good guided training then making a living off affiliate marketing is very plausible.

Quality content will always be the key to online marketing and a affiliate marketing as whole. The quicker we get to know our audiences the quicker we can create our online business.I’m striving to make this website a resource for beginners on anything affiliate marketing related.

    Yunier,

Great job at taking a VERY complex opportunity and breaking it down into its component parts. I love your lists of features and offerings! I took notes to review with my own site. You did a brilliant job!

I DO remember the 90’s! And I remember buying Christmas gifts from websites that are no longer in existence (maybe their owners retired?). I also remember one ad showing a website launch. The folks had a product they had made and were offering it online. They cheered when they got their first order. Then the counter showed “40,” and then “147,298.” Suddenly, they needed a lot more product!

One comment I will make is Wealthy Affiliate (WA) is great even if you just use it as a website host! I’ve had a few other hosting services over the years, and nothing could compare to WA. Not even close! My most recent was HostGator, where my site was infected with malware. And HostGator could do nothing to help me! While at WA, there is built in security of the highest nature.

I’m a WA member myself, and can say honestly say WA 100% worth the cost. I admit I was a bit skeptical at first, but within 2 weeks of my free membership, I climbed aboard as a Premium (paid) member. And as I moved through the very thorough, excellent trainings (I learned more in 4 weeks than I had in 6 years on WordPress, SEO, Google Analytics, and so forth!), well, I just became more and more impressed.

    Great job!

Hey Roger, It’s good to hear you appreciate this in depth article on affiliate marketing that I’ve written. I do think I laid out some golden advice in here that many people will find helpful.

Your story on how this website launched a product and went from selling one product to thousandths so quickly it’s crazy but thats how the internet is. You will find it hard to predict how a product will do online, you sometimes have to brace yourself and even pinch yourself to know if this is real or not.

You are definitely right about Wealthy Affiliate ! They are such a helpful community beginning with Kyle , Carson , and even Jay with all the live training he does. Learning everything about affiliate training can be a daunting task which is why it’s so important to learn the basics. Wealthy Affiliste does a good job of teaching you the basics and diving into the more intermediate and advance strategies from everything that includes SEO , PPC , Social media , WordPress , landing pages and a lot more. What I like even better it’s in a step by step format that we can follow.

By the way ! It’s diasspointing to hear what you experienced with HostGator as I always thought they were pretty reliable but I really dont think that most hosting companies compare to the security that WA has going on. They dont get left behind because they are always striving to be better.

    I love this!

I love people who go well out of their way to help others no matter the cost.

I especially enjoy coming across little nuggets of pure gold in these articles.

3 to 4 pictures per post)
Use sub headings to tell your readers what you will talk about next
At the end, ask if they can share your content ( this usually works )

Im about to go back to my posts and and ask the audience to share my content. How shall I ask them? share through my social media?

    Thank you for the post.

Hey John ! Thank you for the nice words as I love hearing my work being appreciated. As far as asking your audience to share your content is concerned, I would ask at the bottom of your article and also, when you share your articles on social media I would ask to like , +1 , or share if possible.

This warms your visitors as well which makes the experience that much better.

Hey there Larry, in my opinion it usually takes about a solid 3 to 6 months before you be making money online but this can alter depending on your niche , quality content , keyword research, and other factors. Ranking on Google can cost you $0 if done through SEO.

Wow! This is an impressive article about affiliate marketing. This covers everything a beginner needs to get started. All they need to do is jump in and get started. Of course, they will need to keep doing it over and over again until they get good at it. This is where most people fail and give up. They try it one time and surprised it did not work. You might make money on the first try but it’ll take many attempts to get good at it and make lots of money.

Hello sam, affiliate marketing isnt as hard as some entrepeneurs on the internet portray it. It’s really just about practicing writing content and getting familiar with the correct search engine optimization strategies. It can be frustrating the first couple of months and this is usually when most beginners give up. But what’s success without failure ?

Holy in depth guide to affiliate marketing. Such an impressive post with excellent detail. It’s nice to see an honest educational piece like this, especially for people who are new to online business or affiliate marketing.

I myself Yunier am a huge fan of affiliate marketing. Such a simple concept, create on low cost business using a website, pick a niche, write quality content to help our your niche audience, and make money.

It’s really rewarding for those that can take the time to make it happen. Todd

Hey Todd, My objective with this guide was to cover the topic affiliate marketing as much as possible. It was a difficult task as it’s a very broad topic to cover but I do feel I covered most of it. Being new to online business can be scary with so many scams in the internet but there are real possibilities out there.

I honestly love affiliate marketing so much because I was involved with MLM in the past and it wasnt a very good experience from having to do direct selling plus the pyramid like commission pay outs. It just wasnt my cup of tea but you are right ! it’s pretty simple once you break it down pick a niche you are passionate about then just write quality content to help your audience and just monetise it and eventually make money off it.

Hey, that’s an AWESOME article! Learned a lot from just this guide. Just for instance, do you think most posts in our websites should contain product reviews or you recommend mixing things up a bit.

My site is literally about one type of item, so reviewing it is the best bet for me.

    1. Yunier Post author

Hey julius, thank you for taking the time to comment as far as your question is concerned. If your website is just about on specific type of product I would still write some general content as well as people might not just want to see reviews. Try adding post how to use this type of product. If it’s a gym equipment I’m reviewing I would try writing what types of works I can do with them and ect. It’s different for every product we use but mixing it up is best as you don’t want your website to be labeled just as a review website.

If you nee more help don’t hesitate on reaching out 🙂

It’s amazing how far internet marketing has come really. Google, in particular, has evolved a lot along the way. There were days back in the early years of the 2000s when it was possible to get on page 1 of Google with some very simple tricks. Great for internet marketers who knew those tricks, but bad for others who just wanted to have great websites.

These days, it is much harder to rank if you try any of the old tricks but much easier to rank if you just stick to writing high-quality content.

I’ve heard it said that you can build an affiliate marketing business out of any interest or passion. I’m a little bit skeptical of that. Clearly some interests are going to be more profitable than others. For example, a website about how to build your own gaming PC is going to be far more profitable than a website about knitting.

Thank you for taking the time to comment Marcus. You are right the internet has truly evolved from the early 2000’s just look we are using the internet from our phones. You really can’t dominate Google with tactics from 15 years ago or even 5 years ago for that matter.

Spammy links don’t work like they used to or even low quality content. You will find it difficult to rank for keywords if you are writing 500 words per post. This does one thing though, it separates the people that are in it for the long haul and the ones that are trying to make just quick money.

In response to your last paragraph, I honestly feel that any niche can be profitable but obviously some are more profitable. Technology is a hot field for sure but who’s to say you can’t make a full time income of Knitting. I know people that just concentrated on reviewing types of SOCKS bro . Yes, socks and he’s really well off.

It just shows there is no limit on the opportunities out there.

Great article Yunier. Great for beginners yes, but also very helpful I think for intermediate affiliate marketers. What I mean to say is, sometimes when we do something, anything for a while we tend to loose site of the bigger picture and get bogged down with (sometimes unnecessary) details. This article informs beginners of the fundamentals but reminds everyone to stick to a tried and true plan for earning income as a affiliate marketer. Keep up the great work.
